John Reimer RMT

_MG_9483“In my 18 years of practicing as a RMT I have seen firsthand how peoples health awareness has evolved over the years. I always like to take an all-encompassing holistic approach to health and wellness in restoring the body back to it’s optimal balance physically, emotionally and mentally. In many of my patient cases, I typically like to assess, establish and address the root cause of the dysfunction or discomfort through corrective massage therapy.”

John Reimer is the Owner of Body Smart Health and has 18 years of corrective and dynamic manual therapy experience as an RMT.  John integrates conventional massage techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point and joint mobilization with the emerging bio-mechanical modalities that include soft tissue release, anatomy trains, neuromuscular massage therapy and more.

John is passionate about caring for those that care for you in the community as he is truly grateful for the compassion, care and “service to others” that he has personally witnessed, received and experienced with the first responders and caregivers who have been instrumental in both his personal and family life.  This natural tendency to care and help others in attaining optimal health along with John’s dedication to Powerlifting in the late 90s paved the way and led to his career as a Registered Massage Therapist. Attending the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver John graduated in the first class of the new 3-year program in 1998. In order to be able to provide patients with the highest quality and standards of care, John has taken continuing education in: Osteopathic manual therapy, Sports therapy and Rehabilitation.

_MG_9485John has completed the first year studies with the Canadian College of Osteopathy and is currently working on the National Sports Massage Therapy Certification Program with the Canadian Sports Massage Therapy Association. His approach to treatment integrates Orthopedic assessment and Osteopathic principles, which view the body as a whole functional unit and seek to discover the cause of dysfunction, and set up the body to heal itself and restore normal function. Treatment techniques vary with each individual and his/her specific condition to be able to effectively address their particular needs.

John has been in private practice since 1999 and has worked with the Massage Therapists Association of BC to develop and enhance the profession, as well as National, International and community sporting groups and events.

John runs his Body Smart Health business with a positive attitude of gratitude towards all people including caregivers and service workers like the ones that assisted his family through his own challenging times.  John firmly believes that in order for his patients to achieve an active healthy lifestyle and to improve their quality of life – a holistic approach is imperative to a healthy and balanced body, mind and spirit.  He is passionate about assisting others in attaining optimal health from a diverse set of life situations, including working mothers, busy entrepreneurs, active seniors, RCMP veterans, teenager sports development  and many more.
