Body Smart Health | Massage Therapy is pleased to Welcome Anton Kurniawan RMT to the Team!
“In my worldly experience I have crossed paths with a variety of people from all walks of life, continents and occupations. One common problem I have noticed as a RMT in my travels, playing on the basketball court or at the local mall is the tendency for our bodies to unknowingly compensate for a root cause issue that may have been caused by an injury or posture strain from last week, 5 months ago or long ago in our younger years! I firmly believe that our body has the ability to restore itself back to its natural health and state, and as a RMT I want to help people attain and sustain their optimal and active healthy lifestyle.”
Anton graduated from Georgian College in Ontario, was licensed in Ontario before moving to British Columbia and is now registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC). As a RMT and sports enthusiast, Anton is dedicated to healing people with progressive therapeutic treatments and manual therapy as a way to achieve an active healthy lifestyle for his clients.
Through his personal experience and sporty lifestyle he has been prone to physical sports injury, strains or day-to-day posture misalignment – so he knows first hand the value of proactive, dynamic and corrective massage therapy and shares the same vision as Body Smart Health. Before his move to BC, he worked as a licensed RMT in Ontario treating chronic low back pain, MVA (motor vehicle accident) injuries, fibromyalgia and pre/post events sport massage.
Anton’s treatment philosophy is to take a holistic approach to establishing the root cause of an ache, pain or strain. Although treatment varies for each individual he utilizes manual therapy techniques like Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilization, Trigger Points therapy, patient education and remedial exercises in his dynamic and corrective treatments.
He is passionate about living an active lifestyle, playing basketball and enjoying snowboarding in the BC mountains.
Anton’s schedule effective October 1st will be:
